Who Are Magisters Alternative provision?
Grounded in practice, built from experience
Our provision has been designed from the ground up by David Moran, an experienced Headteacher and Executive Principal with specialist expertise in SEMH, Autism, and Alternative Provision. Drawing on approaches that have proved successful across a range of complex settings, David has created a model that puts emotional readiness at the centre of every placement.
We are not a generic AP provider. Every element of our provision from our therapeutic curriculum to our AI-assisted academic delivery has been chosen because it works.

Magisters Mission
Our Mission

The Mission
To deliver high-quality, trauma‑informed alternative provision that enables anxious and vulnerable young people to feel safe, connected, confident and ready to re‑engage with learning. We work in partnership with schools, families and local services to ensure each learner receives personalised, emotionally‑attuned support with clear pathways to reintegration or transition.

Our Commitments
Magisters Alternative Provision Commitments
Everything we do is grounded in six core commitments to the young people we support, the families who trust us, and the schools and authorities who commission our provision.
Safety and Safeguarding
Creating a nurturing, stable, and emotionally secure space where pupils feel welcomed, respected, and able to express themselves without fear or judgement.
Understanding the child
Recognising that emotional wellbeing is the foundation for progress. We take time to understand each pupil's story, needs, strengths, and aspirations.
Personalised, flexible support
Co-creating structured yet adaptable support plans that incorporate therapeutic guidance, academic support, and meaningful learning experiences tailored to the individual.
Building Confidence
Gradually
Celebrating small steps, strengthening resilience, and supporting pupils to take positive risks with progress reviewed regularly with pupils and families.
Strong
Partnerships
Working collaboratively with schools, local authorities, families, and external agencies to deliver cohesive, joined-up support built on shared goals.
Reintegration and Future Steps
Equipping every young person with the personal, social, and academic tools they need to move forward; whether into mainstream school, further education, or employment.

The Curriculum
An Academic and Therapeutic Curriculum

Our Curriculum
Our curriculum combines structured academic delivery including AI-assisted English and Maths, ASDAN, Arts Award, and Skills Builder with a dedicated therapeutic strand delivered in partnership with Chroma. Together, these strands address both the learning gaps and the emotional barriers that have prevented pupils from thriving in mainstream education.
